I love to sing in my car.....loud! When I was little I wanted to be a broadway star/marine biologist/photojournalist (1 outta 3 aint bad, right?) I love love love my job and cannot wait to see what is around the corner for me in this fantastic ride called life.

Napa Valley Engagement | Napa Engagement Photographer

This past July when Caroline and I were shooting a wedding in Alaska we decided, on a whim, to go on an Alaskan Brewery tour….and that is where we met Shayna and Jeff .  They were cruising through Alaska with Jeffs family and just happened to be on the same tasting tour as us.  When we told them why were in Alaska they joked that they might need us sometime in the future if they ever get engaged. We all laughed but I still gave her my number just in case.:)  Well lo and behold 4 months later I get a text from Shayna telling me her and Jeff are engaged and they wanted us to fly out to Napa to photograph their engagement session.  Ok, twist my arm…haha.  So off to Napa Caroline and I go. The following is what happens when you spend an entire weekend with an awesome couple….a giant blog post!!  I can’t wait to photograph their wedding next August in Carmel!!

We had sooo much fun with these two! I think we stopped at 7 wineries in all.:)

She said YES! | Colorado sunset proposal

I was beyond honored to witness and capture this amazing event in my good friend Annie’s life.  It was so much fun to plan and execute this beautiful, romantic proposal with her boyfriend Brian, although he did all the work and I just showed up and stayed hidden.  It is a miracle that any of  these photos were in focus because from the second Brian got down on one knee I started crying.

These beautiful images are the result of 4 different people…

Brian- the brave one who planned it and agreed to let me capture it.

Caroline – a great friend, photography partner and my amazing second shooter, who I am so thankful for because Annie would’ve known something was up the second she saw me up at Daniel’s Park.

Sydney – my daughter,  rounded out the “under cover” team as Carolin’s “fake”  model for the evening. (they were literally circling Brian and Annie with the camera):)

Oh and a big shout out to mother nature for providing Brian a breathtaking sunset that I am sure Annie will never forget.

Can you spot me?? I felt like a CIA agent…it was awesome!:)Brian told her he had one more surprise and I jumped out a gave her a hug.  I will never forget it.:)Syd “pretending” to pose while Caroline was busy snapping away at the unsuspecting couple.

(she told me on the way home “mom, you have THE coolest job”. Yes, yes I do.:)

She said YES!

annie - Deb–naturally I will never forget this moment, but I am absolutely thrilled you were able to be a part of this special day. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for taking time out of your day to capture this moment for us. I was doing well (in the crying department), until I saw you, and then I totally lost it. Unbelievable! Thank you to Sydney and Caroline, as well, and you’re right–it was the best sunset in Colorado….ever! Love you!

Donna Prete - Debra:

Thank you for capturing a very special proposal. Annie and Brian will have these memories for a lifetime. Your blog and pictures were just beautiful and you made it possible for all their family and friends to share their special evening!

Liesa, John & boys | Castle Rock, CO family photographer

I had so much fun with Liesa and her beautiful family. I honestly do love it when a family decides to join in on the fun of a senior session.  We started up in Castle Pines with the family and ended the session at Columbine open space for Ty’s, a senior at CVHS, session. Ty is a super sweet kid who is already committed to the Marine Corps. after he graduates in June. I know he will do great things!

Semper Fi!

Country Cuties | Parker, CO children and family photographer

I photographed this adorable family a couple of years ago and was ecstatic when mom called telling me they needed some updated portraits.  I was given the full tour of their 5 acres, which included a fairy garden and a baby chickens house, by their adorable 6 year old.  I love that parents trust me enough to just let me “be” with their children without having to hover or watch….it is so much fun to build that trust and relationship with the kids on my own.  I love this family and can’t wait to “play” with them again.

Betty Daniels - Love the photos! Can’t wait to see more.

Christian {Class of 2014} Douglas County Senior Photographer

Had tons of fun with Christian in downtown Castle Rock this afternoon. The crazy rain finally stopped and the sun came out with a vengeance….thankfully!
Christian  was super fun and has one of the sweetest smiles I’ve ever seen in an 18 year boy.:)  Thanks for walking all over down town with me Christian!  Look for him again soon on the blog…he is scheduled to make a “came0” in another upcoming session of mine.
